My xbox keeps disconnecting when I play singleplayer

For the past week my xbox has been disconnecting from live because I play single player. When I play multiplayer like gears of war 3 or MW3 I won't get disconnected. But when I play fallout, skyrim, or mass effect, I'll get disconnected every 3-5 minutes. I'll sign back in just fine. When I play private matches by myself I'll still get disconnected. If I wait at gears of war 3 or mw3 party menu i'll get disconnected. It's like if I'm playing with at least one other person I won't get disconnected. Is this problem happening to anybody else? I also have a wired connection from my xbox 360 to my router. I probably got disconnected from live after typing this.

Hey there,

Please turn off your router for 30 seconds and then turn in on.

I am having the same problem, except that some of my games disconnect when I am playing online games (but only with local players on the same router, like Gears 1 doing Private Player Matches, usually playing online doesn't affect it). It happened a few days ago, I thought it would go away but it is still doing it. I know it must be an Xbox issue and not a network issue since my friend and I were connected to the same router and I was disconnected from Xbox Live and he wasn't. I have the Halo Reach Slim Xbox. Any suggestions? This is getting really annoying.

Hey there,

I suggest you re-install your System Cache:

1. Press ''Xbox Guide Button'' and go to'' System Settings''.

2. Go to ''storage'' (3rd from above).

3. Press the following key combinations: ''LB RB X LB RB X'' and then press ''Yes''.

4. Your console will remove all updates and the restart.

I hope that works.

Hey there,

You have already tried these steps that are been given in my previous post?:

http://support.xbox.com/xbox-live/connecting/cant-connect-to-xbox-live-wizard

BTW, is that issue with every game you play or some of them?

DummyArbiter, I tried all those things. There is not a problem with my connection (since my friends connected to the same router do not have the same problem) but I keep getting disconnected.

This happens when I play any single player. Pretty much if I'm not with another person. If I'm in a party on the dashboard I'll get disconnected

Hello all,

I recommend to contact your ISP.

There's somthing wrong in the router its self and not in the Xbox.

If your ISP can't do anything, please ask them if they want to reset the router.

If even that didn't helped, I think there's a problem in the Xbox self.

See the Xbox repair guide:
