My Xbox is rarely able to get passed the splash screen

My Xbox is rarely able to get passed the splash screen, when it is able to get to the dashboard  it is unable to read disks most of the time, when it does read the disk it plays well for a while then freezes on me. If you've had the same problem or know what to do could you help me out? Thanks. P.S. I got this Xbox 360 Slim as a birthday present in late Feb. 2013 so its rather new.

I checked it out and it didn't help. It's unable I read any disks and the starting up trouble is even worse I contacted costumer support and I will probably have it sent in for repairs. Thanks for your help!

Well, happy belated birthday, armykidknox! Sounds like you've got a hard drive device issue on your hands. Before you send that bad boy in for repair I'd suggest you try removing your hdd and booting up using a USB configured for your console. You can use the steps in our support article: Add or remove an Xbox 360 Hard Drive. Do you have trouble during system start up with the HDD removed? Let us know!

I already tried that, thanks though. I contacted costumer support and got some help, but nothing worked. It looks like repairs are defiantly needed. Thanks for your time guys!
