My XBOX elite Died

I am out of warranty and I have no problem getting my kids a new one. The issue is, I have no clue which to buy? Will the HDD from the dead one work in a new one? Is there any information on the current system they will loose that is not on the HDD? They use XBOX live with a wireless adapter and for the TV it has a HDMI connection. Is there a bare bones model that is not $300 dollars I can attach this stuff to and make it that same as it was before the Error 74?

Thanks,

Cindy

You can't use the old hdd on the new console but you can transfer the data. I did it with a cable I bought at Gamestop for 12 euro. The new consoles have a built-in wifi connection and an HDMI port so no worries there.

If you bought arcade games you will need to do a liscense transfer. Click here to see how.

Thanks for your feedback.

Also Make sure you purchase the Official Transfer Cable - Or it could mess up the new console's hard drive.
