My XBOX Dashboard will not load

Hello people, If XBOX Support is reading this. I need help fixing my XBOX.

I was just playing a normal game of Modern Warfare 2 when all of a sudden, the "Disc Unreadable" error message popped up.

But behind the message, the screen was mostly purple and it had all sorts of tiny lines of color behind it. It looked very corrupted.

So I press ok, then my XBOX freezes. I still hear friends in my party but the screen is black, I open of the guide and now it is COMPLETELY FROZEN.

I cannot move at all, yet still being able to communicate with my friends. I turn my XBOX off. I turn it back on, the thing will not load.

The power supply light is green, I don't have a RRoD and I tried plugging all of the cords back out and back in.

I've tried as much as I could without possibly opening up the console but I really need help.

I've had this XBOX S for only a year and half and it suddenly stops working.

The XBOX freezes when I get the loading screen finishes and the XBOX 360 logo is just sitting there.

As I leave it on, I notice to hear a scratchy noise inside the console, so I think it may be a hardware problem. Though I'm not sure, and don't want to waste money.

Please reply back..

The length of the post-service warranty depends on whether your Xbox product is serviced while it is under warranty or not.

  • In-warranty service: If your Xbox 360 console is serviced within the original warranty period (free repair), you receive either the balance of your original warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer.
  • Out-of-warranty service: If your Xbox 360 console is serviced out of the original warranty period (paid repair), your serviced console will have a 90-day warranty.

Also do not open the console yourself, this is a Violation and is not ok. only official xbox repair centers are allowed to open your xbox. if you do open yourself you will break your warranty.

Ok, I've just tried most of your answers and thank you for the help!

I have an update though, I in fact do have an RRoD now.

It's an E68 error.

I know it's my hard drive because I removed it and the console worked completely fine.

I'm planning on buying a new hard drive, but will this be a guaranteed fix?
