My Xbox 360 Slim turns off after I turn it on.

 Hello everyone. I'm having a bit of an issue with my Xbox 360 slim as of late. It seems to turn off by itself shortly after I've turned it on. This has only been happening recently and it seems to only happen sometimes, but after I continue trying to turn it back on after it turns off, the amount of time my console stays on decreases every time I repeat the process. I wanted to know if anyone could help me out concerning this issue, as it would be greatly appreciated. ^^' Thank you.

I'm having the same issue.  I went through all of the steps outlined in the No Power Solution like Venom mentioned, I even bought a replacement power brick, but it still shut off after about 20 minutes.  I thought it could possibly be overheating, but I've had it in the same place for over a year and a half and this just started recently.

When your Xbox shuts down what color is the light on the power brick?  It might be that your power brick needs to be replaced.

 

Solid green or solid orange light: Your power supply is working. If your console won’t turn on, try our Xbox No Power Solution.

Flashing orange, solid red, or no light: Your power supply may need to be replaced. Try the following solutions:

  1. Try plugging your console’s power supply into a different electrical outlet. Do not use a surge protector.
  2. If the power supply light is solid red or flashing orange, unplug the power supply and let it cool for 30 minutes. Then, plug the power supply back into the outlet.

If your power supply light is still flashing orange, solid red, or unlit, your power supply needs to be replaced. You can Order a replacement Xbox 360 power supply from our Xbox Online Service Center. Console registration is required to replace the power supply under warranty (the power supply warranty is the same as your console warranty).

I found that it would turn off half way into the game if I had ALL my video inputs plugged in (HD and SD cables). By this I mean that I had the red, white, yellow cables plugged in as well as the blue, green cables. Once I unplugged the yellow cable it worked fine. It might have something to do with the graphics of the game overloading the system/ inputs.

I got my console repaired AND a new power cable and I'm still having the same problem. I have a surge protector as well but most of my electronics are in it - is that an issue? I really don't have an option since it's the router, modem and xbox connected to it

First, is there any kind of error code?

Is it in a totally ventilated area?

I would also use a microfiber cloth and wipe the power button incase there is some dirt in there. It is a very sensitive button on the slim so I would try to clean that.

I'm from Brazil and I'm having the same problem. Came a month after the one year warranty. Now is belted shell of 217 reais (about $ 100.00) for the concert from microsoft. Absurd.

The problem seems is getting frequent. Several users reporting this problem. Possibly my next video game will be the ps4. For this issue of durability and the fact that one can not play xbox games from xbox360.
