My gamertag was forcibly changed and now I have to pay for a new one.

My gamertag, Sexy Babies, was forcibly changed for being deemed an "Inappropriate Gamertag." When I went on Xbox to change my gamertag, it was telling me I had to pay for a new one. In the email it said I would allowed to pick a new gamertag for myself. I want to be able to chage my gamertag for free again since it was forcibily changed. Please response as soon as you can, thank you.

Hi, wittykitten. I'm wittypup. The same thing happened to me. I was RancidTampon. Xbox has terrible customer service and I've been trying for days now with no results to get some help. I don't think either of us will be allowed to have a free name change. I recommend your next console is a ps4, not an xbox one. d-(^_^)-b

are you sure its not you are free to choose another name at your cost?

the policy is pretty clear and spelt out in the terms of use

upon a forced name change you will be given a random name and will have to pay for a new name

sorry no free name changes

please read the terms of use carefully as multiple name changes can lead to a perm ban

I'm going to pay the ten dollars to change my name now, since support here is garbage. And I will never again recommend a microsoft product for the rest of forever, because they don't give a **** about their customers. =) Good luck, and have a nice day.

I would say good luck to you on your next system purchase

fyi you cant rename yourself on psn and ps4 is also a paid subscription

most services do require you to have a name and bio that is rated E for everyone

Do you really have nothing better to do with your time than sit here on xbox forums pretending you work for microsoft? Guess what, you don't. Stop trying. actually if you read the terms of use you would know better

everything in your profile must be rated e for everyone no one who helped you in your previous thread ever said they worked for ms

you can read the community rankings on the right side as you can see ambassadors are not ms employees

I suggest you actually do some reading  like community rules and tou

If your gamertag is forcibly changed you should get a free gamertag change. I didn't waste $10 to have my gamertag removed.

no that isn't the pioint of the force name change

you are being punished not rewarded for the change

it is your own fault for not following the rules

the rules are pretty clear on names it must be rated E for everyone

you should be happy for a second chance

it could've been worse multiple forced name changes will only lead to the perm ban of your account

if you are made to pay for making an appropriate name everytime you break the naming rules you would hopefully learn the lesson the first time

your name and bio must be rated e for everyone

They should not be "punishing" their customers. Especially when this is the first time I EVER changed my name, and $10 was already EXCESSIVE. And now I basically paid $20 to change my name. They are being greedy, and you are policing the forums like you own the place. You are not the authority on this. We wanted to speak with CUSTOMER SERVICE. And neither of us are able to. All we get is some noob policing the forums. We get it. It was "offensive" But they need to have some leniency, or they are just being greedy, horrible people that are trying to teach their customers a lesson. AKA HORRIBLE customer service. Especially when they cannot even reply to us. You are acting like we should be kissing microsofts ugly feet for getting a second chance. As long as I am paying my money, I should be able to have as many chances as I want. I am a PAYING CUSTOMER. So is WittyKitten. You are NOT customer service. So stop trying. Stop acting like it is your job to do their customer service for them.
