Console bans are one way trips, it's been modded and you shouldn't really have let him if you didn't want him to do it. It was your console and you had every right to keep him away from it.

The enforcement team won't even discuss console bans.

There is no recourse for bans, like I said before - bans are 1 way trips - non reversable.

Doing online mods will not get you console banned.  Just get your gamertag banned.  The fact that your xbox is banned has nothing to do with your friend but the fact that in some way/shape/form you modded your xbox and got caught.   If you get a new xbox, don't mod it and it won't get banned.

Actually you can also get console banned for having too many violations as well. So it's not always because the console is modded.

Regardless of the particular cause though - a console ban is NOT REVERSABLE. Which is the point of this thread, there is no way to back the ban off the console, it is absolutely not allowed on xbox live anymore.

What you need to do now is go to your 'friend' and tell him he owes you a new console. Or you could accept responsibility for his and your actions and get a new one yourself. You had ample opportunity to stop/prevent your friend from using your console but did not. There are tools on the console to prevent unauthorized access to your profile and XBL and there were also other ways you could have kept him from using it such as turn it off, take away the power cord while he is there, etc...

no, as long as the ACCOUNT is not suspended or banned (suspended till 12/31/9999) all you have to do is sign onto your current account on the NEW console and you will be back in business, you will still have all your achievements, your game score, your MS points and any remaining LIVE balance.  you will also be able to re download any games or any other DLC for free again as long as you are on the same account that bought/downloaded them.  I think the ONLY things you will loose is the saved data.  you can always try plugging in a flash drive into the banned console and see if you can copy them onto it then transfer them to the new console.
