My console has 1 flashing red light. E 68

Alright, so my XBL account is saved onto my hard drive along with a few games.
I took out my hard drive and the red flashing light goes away and everything is back to normal.
Does this have anything to do with voltage or is my hard drive corrupt?

And how can I troubleshoot this? I can't get my gamertag from xbl onto my xbox because i don't have a hard drive, which means i can't even play my games!

And my saved files ):<

You may have to get a new Hard Drive. There's recovery for your Gamertag and DLC that can be run, but unfortunately it would spell bad news for the game saves/progress you had going.

www.xbox.com/.../FAQ  -- will help you with the recovery process.

Unfortunately if the hard drive is not able to be read, the game data will not be recoverable.

You can't. HDDs are not user-servicable.

The only way you may be able to get data off of it is to use a Transfer Cable, but it's unlikey that would work if the drive's not working in the console.
