I don't know what you have tried yet, but I'm perfectly able to video chat with my MSN Messenger friends. I'm on the Xbox with Kinect, and my other friend is on his MSN Messenger with Webcam, and we can both video-chat fine. So it is already there.

As for the video watching together, you both need to use the Zune Marketplace on each others console. And it has nothing to do with Kinect.

To watch a video with a party of friends, do the following:

  • Make sure every of your friends (and you yourself) have an active Gold membership.
  • Go to the Zune video slot.
  • Choose "Party"
  • Choose to recommend a movie.
  • Choose to invite friends.

If your friends already are in a Party, start Zune, choose "Party", and ask Zune to find a Party. Join the Party of your friends.

Also keep in mind, that each of your friends has to also buy or rent the video you are about to watch. It's like going to the cinema, where each of your friends also has to buy a separate ticket for him-/herself

This supposedly also works similar in Netflix, but since Netflix isn't available in my country, I don't know how to start that.
