Moving my gamer tag from one Live Id to another does not work

I have two Live Ids:

[REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]

I have two gamer tags:

1. shadowgrass (associated with [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]

2. shadowgrass2 (associated with [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT])

My goal was this:

1. shadowgrass (associated with [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT])

This process required a third (empty) Live Id, which I created

1. [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]

Then I went to my Xbox and moved the first tag

1. [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]

Xbox reported this was a success "You have successfully moved your gamer tag"

Then I used my Xbox to moved second tag

1. shadowgrass -> [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]

Again, Xbox reported this was a success "You have successfully moved your gamer tag"

At this point I was ready to deleted two of the three Live Ids

1. [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT] (with no gamer tag)

2. [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]

My primary Live Id and gamertag would then be

1. [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]

But then, on my computer I logged into xbox.com as [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT] and the old gamer tag was showing

And then, I reset my  windows phone with [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT] and the old gamer tag was showing

This was frustrating.

So I repeated the process again.

Same result except the Xbox gave a "general error" pointing me to the forums for support.

So, here I am. What am I supposed to do?

My  old Live Id ( [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]) with my primary gamer tag (shadowgrass) is crap and I want to deleted it.

Of course I don't want to delete my gamer tag

My new Live Id ([REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]) has all my email and stuff, it's my primary account.

The gamer tag associated with [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT] is crap, though.

My goal is to get [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MS ACCOUNT]

But it won't work.

Any help?

Hi there Shadowgrass! First, it is unwise to post your email address and, especially, your Microsoft Account information as these are public forums. Please make sure to always protect your personal information.

That said I understand you have two Gamertags and want to swap the Microsoft Account email from one to the other, is that correct? If you haven't already, please make sure you have read and followed the steps found in our "Switch a gamertag to another Microsoft account" guide.

If you are stuck somewhere and need further assistance, please let us know how things are setup by using "Gamertag 1" and "MSA 2" as examples for your different accounts. That will make is easier for us to know what's going on and help you out. Thanks!
