Microsolt Hard Drive VS. Other Hard Drive made for the Xbox 360 Slim

My Question is will a "3rd party" Hard Drive made from a different company for the xbox 360 slim work just as good as the Microsoft Hard Drive. I need the Hard drive to install FFXI on my brothers xbox. It takes up 14g, can i install the install the game for him and can he play it with the "3rd party" hard drive without gettin banned from xbox live.  Only reason we are going with the "3rd party" hard drive is it $70 less then Microsoft's for the same size.

Please help me out with this.

The use of any unauthorized hardware could lead to trouble and enforcement action down the line and no one here or with Microsoft will be able to help you if things go wrong.

While using a 3rd party hard drive has never gotten anyone banned from Xbox LIVE (that I know of) they are not good to use. They can have problems with them simply because they are made using cheaper hard drives that are not up to the same quality standards as Microsoft's official Xbox 360 hard drives.

These 3rd party hard drives will also not work with original Xbox games that are compatible with the Xbox 360.

You can take a gamble, but I honestly wouldn't.
