Membership problems

Hi there i just purchased a 1 month gold membership, however on this website it says im gold, and on my xbox it says im "xbox live free"

I tried getting the gold membership on the xbox as well but it comes up with

"Can't retrieve information from Xbox LIVE.

Please try again later.

Status code:80162751

 

Ive had somthing similar to this before, so i just started a new account, however it would mean having to go through the progress of doing all my games again.

Is there any way round this?

Since you purchased the membership on the website instead of the console, it can take a while for the console to show the change. Try either testing your connection or recovering your account.

Yeah, I now have this problem, I tried ringing the support numbers but neither will work. I'd like to know how long it usually takes for the xbox to register your new live subscription?
