Lost Windows Live ID

information: I had an windows live/xbox account, the one I am signed on with now.  My live expired so I made a new gamertag, but could not register with my email since it had a gamertag associated with it, so I created a new email to create a new windows live ID, and as soon as I got signed onto xbox I promptly forgot my email/windows ID

next step: in attempting to remove some data/stats from xbox I inadvertently erased my profile and every associated with it.... yea... i know...

now when i call xbox support they run me through the verification process.

I can verify my name, address, age, DOB, mothers maiden name, SSN, but none of that matters

the customer support tells me that I need to provide them with the last 4 digits of the credit card associated with my account, OR the answer to my secret question

1, i don't have a secret question

2, i don't have a credit card

i have 6-7 months of time remaining on my gold xbox live membership, i even have the pre-paid code that I used on my account, but they will not accept that as verification

i have been told repeadily that my only option is to remember my windows live id or they can not help me....

can anyone help?

Hey Fupayme, I'm sorry to hear about the account issues. However, every WLID account has a security questions associated with it. If you're unable to recover that account, then you may simply have to default to the new account. If you work with phone support, they should be able to shut down the subscription from the account you can't access and ascribe it to the new account.

I think if I knew what the email address was I would be able to answer any security questions and reset the password, I just need that one piece of information.  The phone tech support told me that since I cannot verify the account that they will not cancel and transfer any credit.

I understand the security issue but it seems they are incapable of accepting that I do not have a credit card, nor was a security question ever setup.

I really hate to harp on about this but I am quite literally broke and I was really counting on that prepaid 12 month card to actually last me 12 months.  When life gives you lemons, it really pours em on.

so another round with xbox live phone support, even asked for supervisors etc

windows live could use my prepaid code to find my gamertag, and xbox can find my gamertag, but won't use my prepaid code to verify i am who i say i am.

i told them thank you for taking my money and the awesome customer service, and they told me thanks for forgetting your windows live id... time to get a ps3

Can you actually see what the question is?

I was told is 2 different calls to xbox live that there was no security question, so its sort of hard to give the answer when I don't know the answer.

I would suggest going on some other forums to have a look and see if your the only one this has happened to. also maybe contact a senior support member and ask them, thats all i can think of. i wish you luck.
