LOCKED - Auto renewal should be decided by the account holder.

When I signed up the system didn't mention I would be automatically charged at the end of the membership without being able to cancel it myself, no matter if I still play online or not. There is no point on calling from oversea to contact support when you can easily put a link on the website.....We should decide if we want to keep using the service or not.

The tip to add a new account in order to remove the existing one is just a trick to get hold of a new payment method, in other words you guys have shown you don't really care about your customers and the feedback from the support page sucks big time as it's limited to just few words; I wonder if any of you ever look at it!!!

I'm totally agree with you as facing same trouble. I feel so it's a steep marketing trick to allowing easily buy something for good price and then hard to cancel them. I mean no way to cancel from console as well as online on xbox website and have oversea number ONLY. It's a same. Now I understand why ask my kids replacing Xbox360 for a PS3, there is no costs for online gaming.

Don't call during peak hours and start badgering the game developer to write better netcode then.

Just to update this thread for the last time....

It took me 27 minutes on the phone with support to remove my details from the system, even if I had already checked to off the automatic autorenewal from a link that mysteriously appeared on my account page.

For the "know it all" please stop giving the wrong info to the posters, from the way support dealt with my request it is usually longer than just few minutes on the phone and the frequent disconnections from your game server make xbox no better than PS3

Frequent consolle messages are:

Migrating to new host

Server disconnected

Lost connection to server

Oh well ...quite few connection problems with xbox too so don't mention that...we all know online games are all due to this sort od inconvenience.

I forgot to mention that not all prepaid cards are accepted....my Gold Mastercard wasn't....not many choices left uh....take it or leave it...right?...lol

Free games?.....I had to buy the games and membership to play online.

Let's get real....Microsoft should put a renew link on the account holder's page, after all (you as a gamer know) you get an expiration message from the consolle well in advance!

However this is not a complaint but an observation to which you can feel free not to agree with.

Now excuse me but I have a game to play....lol

you are told when purchasing a membership on the dashboard or the promotions

"this membership will renew at regular price right underneath the buy now button" in the same size text as the buy now

 

and if you read what you are buying you have 2 options

subscription which means indefinate renewal unless cancelation notice is given

or prepaid cards which doesn't have subscription but limited times

It's real simple... If you can't call, then the promotions on the dash are not for you.

If you just want time and no subscription then go to amazon.com and purchase the Prepaid Codes

if you have connection problems on xbox live it could be an issue with your network which would also cause issues with your psn

 

if you are trying to connect to someone from japan in the US

good luck

 

if you click support you can see when xbox has a connection issue

No issues on my network my friend...."server disconnected" is a common message and I'm not the only one receiving it ...I got kicked out just now from Black Ops....btw are you one of the monsters playing?...lol

Are you sure? I have read the XBL Terms of Service several times over in the past few years and each time I do I see.......a lot of pages to read on.

I'm glad you took such long time to read the small print so many times; I did it too (only once though) and I honestly thought there was a link for the calcellation on the website as well.....maybe not...lol...but to renew it hey no problems....lol...I think you are a bit naive if you really think Microsoft did this only to prevent accounts being misused.

@ ngocphi........I saw that too but I thought I could cancel it whenever I wanted from a simple link on the website....

So even after the "so many discussions about this topic" the issue is still take it or leave it from Microsoft point of view uh?....so much for customer service!!!!
