Live Sign In Help

Hey I'm a returning member who had the red rings of death on my xbox 360 and recently got it fixed and is working like new but I can't sign in to Live even though I have an account and it won't let me sign in because I just had the console upgraded. I had the red rings of death over a year ago so I am not familiar to Live because of connection problems. Anyway I am having problems signing in to Live from the xbox 360 console, I need help.

Ok So unless you have your profile on a memory unit you will need to do an account recovery to get your profile onto the new console. If you are not sure how to do this see the steps in the link below.

My profile is on the same console and the people who were fixing it didn't touch it.

Ok so you said you upgraded your console?. So you would need to recover your account to the new console or transfer it over with a memory unit.

Also what error are you getting when you try to sign in?

Ok so you did a system update? Also what error do you get when you try to sign in?

All it said that the ID was already associated with a different gamertag or something when ever I tried to sign in with my 1 and only email and password.

Hmm is this the correct gamertag showing now when you login to xbox.com ?

OP: I'm willing to bet that you are trying to Create an account, that's why you are getting that message. Make sure you to follow the instructions Kiesey posted to Recover your account on the console. Please don't worry about what is already on the console, just try recovering it. Thanks!
