Linksys wrt320n wirelss problem.

I use a Linksys wrt320n wireless connection and the white external wireless adapter for my 360.  I can connect to xbox live fine, but I get enormous amounts of lag through the wireless adapter.  This does not happen when connecting wired, and the having the xbox only a few feet from the router does not help either.  My wireless is secured so I know that no one is stealing my bandwidth, but I cannot seem to get this to work properly.

Hi, wireless can be a problem depending on distance, make up of your home, interference etc, try some of these tips to improve it, especially the one about changing channels:- www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../114-troubleshooting-and-improving-wireless

Thank you for the suggestions, but they did not solve my problem.  I am thinking that it might have something to do with the actual wireless settings on the router, and i cannot find very many tips on how to configure these settings.

Did you use software like inSSIDer to find out what wireless channels are being used for other networks in your are and try different wireless channels of your own?

Ok well its possible your Xbox is too far away from the router for wireless, unless anything else could be interfering like turtlebeach headsets, digisenders etc

Right now my xbox is about 18 inches away and I have no other wireless devices turned on.

At that distance it should be perfect, so you've tried Channel 11 and Channel 1 and it still lags?

Yes and it turns out that it was a fault in the router, or so I believe.  I ended up barrowing a friends router, and it ran smoothly.  Not sure why it was able to run my laptop and guests laptops without a problem, but it just didn't seem to like the wireless adapter.  Thanks for the info though.  It will come in handy some day.
