Keep disconnecting from XBOX LIVE, party chat cuts off

Hello, as of yesterday XBL would disconnect me while being idol or playing non multiplayer games. I also have started to generate lag in games such as Guitar Hero. If I play guitar hero online multiplayer, for example co op with a friend, I don't get disconnected, but the game still lags. If I don't play multiplayer on it, it still lags and disconnects me continuously, to the point if 4 times a song. I would also like to add that I can sign in instantly straight after with no fuss. Also I have to cancel and restart updates such as the update yesterday, it took over 20 attempts for the update to download. I also now cannot hear my friends talking because they cut off and so does my voice. If I leave my XBOX on in the FIFA 12 Ultimate Team HUB it disconnects me, and sometimes it just kicks me from the EA servers (that might just be the severs though, we all know how un-amazing EAs servers are) . My broadband is from Virgin Media and U read that they are having problems with XBL, I have their fastest broadband and have never experienced this before. Can someone help me?
