Keep disconnecting from XBL

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown Yes
Is NAT Type Open?  Yes
Any Error Codes you encounter: None
What type of internet do you have? Cable/DSL/T1/3G? DSL
Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Orange
After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" and click on "More info", what is the exact message shown on screen?

I keep gettiong d/c off XBL, i can be doing something or nothing and it will radomly boot me off. I can then connect straight away with no issues but will still boot me off sometime later. I have checked the router settings and nothing has changed since my 1st setup some 4 / 5 years ago. I was originally wireless and thought the xbox was losing wi-fi connectivity, but now i have gone wired and its still the same.

Have you recently restarted your router? Is it a router/modem combination? Also, what is your internet speed? You can get that info by visiting speedtest.net and running the tests there. :)

yes i have restarted the router, its the same router i have had since switching broadband users nearly 5 years ago. internet speed is 6.96 (max is 8.0).

I don't know if it has anything to do with your issue, but I know a lot of users are having issues with Orange ISP and Xbox LIVE. Are you using the router provided to you from Orange? Can you try a different router?

ok installed this buafflo router and still the prblem exists, could it be a line issue? even though it just disconnects we from Live and not the internet, cos the internet on my computer stays on?

It's possible. Can you check to see that the proper ports are open on the router first? support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live

ok opened the ports i will see how long it lasts if or when it d/c from XBL, also i have been d/c from the internet totally today.

opened the ports and within 20 mins of siging in on XBL i am disconnected
