Just Changed from DSL to Fiber Optic, can't seem to connect

Today my internet was switched from DSL over to Fiber Optic, and to be fair I have no idea how to connect back to xbox live anymore, I tested my connection and all and now I have unplugged my connector (please note it is by Trendnet NOT my microsoft)

Could someone help me? do I need to use the new security code? anyone?

Hello

you might need to check your network ports.

Please check this link it has a full guide on how to open ports and NAT:

Unfortunately this did not help at all, I have gotten an error message saying it can't find an IP address after switching over.

Let me ask,  does the console simply find any available connection or must it be configured to a specific connection?

Also, for the most part I have no idea what you are talking about, even read the full guide and i found no help.

Are trying to connect with a wireless adapter, or are you plugging an ethernet cable into the console?

To be honest, I am using a trendnet TEW-647GA wireless adapter (or whatever it is) which uses an Ethernet cable to connect to adapter.

Since you are not using the Xbox factory supported adapter, your best bet is to call TrendNet at (866) 845-3673

Hi,

This won't be an Xbox problem it will be the setup of your third party adapter and it talking (or not) to your new router, if you connect a PC to the adapter you will probably had the same issue

Also have a read of this:- www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../204-using-a-third-party-ethernet-wireless-adapter
