Is it possible to play Download Games offline?

Hey Guys,

a Friend of mine wants to buy a XBox One. Unfortunately he doesn`t have Internet.

He can download the Day One Patch in my House, that`s not the Problem.

But is it also possible for him to Download Games at my House an then play it offline at his Home? Or is an Internent connction needed to play downloaded Games?

have you tried playing the game in off line mode in the consoles settings ?

it works for the games I have, and I don't bother downloading the updates atm because I'm on a very very low download limit, I guess it should work, I have two small games I downloaded and they both work in off line mode.

I could be wrong ...

Having a quick read I believe you can play downloaded games offline providing the console you downloaded/playing them on is set to your "Home" console.

Some info in link below.

( Apologies if I've read it wrong )

lofty who

yea I have my console set as home console to, I'm gutted I'm missing out on most of the fun to be had from the Xbox One but that's only due to my internet issue, and nothing to do with Microsoft's Xbox one.

Technically, yes, you can play games offline (as others have mentioned) if the Xbox One is set up as their 'Home' console.

Having said that, it's 2015.  If you're going to shell out 300-400 dollars for a brand new console, I'd assume you'd want to take advantage of everything it has to offer, which would most definitely require an Internet connection.

@ steve,

I remember what you posted in another thread about your internet cap.

Shocking really this day and age! I'm just glad BT offer us unlimited. What with my wife, daughter using the broadband, I don't know how would cope with some sort of limit.

Hope you get it sorted eventually.
