IP address error

Basically went through every troubleshoot step. Even called microsoft and my isp, and not even they could figure out my problem. Every computer in the house is able to pull an ip. I'm using the wired set up with my xbox so i figured there might lie the problem, but whenever i tried the same ethernet cord with my roommate's xbox, his was able to pull an ip. Beginning to think the ethernet port on my xbox is defective.

What Country/State/Province do you live in? Tennessee, US

Modem brand & model number: Arris TM902A

Router brand & model number: Netgear WNR1000v3

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter? Using wired setup

Things you have tried:

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes

Do you have a NAT error? No

Any Error Codes you encounter: Just the ip error

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Charter

After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" press “Y” for "More Info”. In the pop-up that appears, what are the following values, if shown? (If a value below does not appear for you, just leave it blank.)

I have the original xbox 360. I am using a wired setup through the router. Xbox will not obtain an ip. Went through all the troubleshoot methods and none seemed to work for me. All other devices in house are able to obtain ip's through wireless and wired connections, even my roommate's xbox. (He also has the original xbox 360). Already called microsoft and my isp. They seemed to think it was my modem, but if my roommate's xbox is working properly then i think the problem lies within my xbox.

Please reset your Xbox network settings to factory defaults

Please try a different network cable

Please try a different port on your router

If none of those resolve your issue then I would say you are correct, it sounds like your Xbox network port is faulty and you will need to arrange a repair

Also I've done some research and if my ethernet port were faulty then it would not register a connection at all, yet I have a connection I just can't obtain an IP

There are different types of errors, I have seen faults like this in the past where it registers a physical connection but will not obtain an ip address, it is certainly a fault.
