Installing games on the Xbox One

Ok, whenver I install a game it takes a long time for the percent to go up, I wonder if its the hardware or whatever or anyone experiencing it too....Please have an update whenever... And also I tried putting the disc back in and it goes up one percent which doesn't make sense...Like every time.

I'm experiencing that as well. I believe since it is a brand new consol the speed of game downloads will need to adjusted by the makers of the game.

To resolve this issue, disconnect from Xbox Live, install the game, and then reconnect to Xbox Live. Here’s how:

  1. Disconnect your Xbox One console from Xbox Live. To disconnect your console from Xbox Live:
  • Wired connection: If you use a wired connect, just unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of your Xbox One console.
  • Wireless connection:
    1. Go to the Home screen.
    2. Press the Menu button on the controller
      1. Select Settings.
Note You can say "Xbox, go to settings" from any screen, but you’ll need a controller once you’re on the Settings screen.
      2. Select Network.
      3. Select Disconnect wireless.
  1. Power cycle your Xbox One console. To do this, hold down the Xbox button on the front of the console for ten seconds.
  2. Restart your Xbox One console and let the game install.
  3. Reconnect to Xbox Live.
Note You may be prompted to install an update for the game after you reconnect to Xbox Live.

It worked for me just fine. The problem is that the Xbox One UI is not entirely clear on the status of the installation; it counts downloading any title updates as part of the "installation" of a disc-based title, and prohibiting your console from downloading these updates *will* make your game install faster... At the price of being unable to access any online features until you download the update.

Of course, while this might help installation times, they're still going to be reasonably long. The games need to be installed to a 5400RPM SATA-II drive, which isn't optimal.

@raVen2700 - that is incorrect, an internet connection is NOT required to install games from a disc. Installing the disc first without being connected to the internet is much faster since the updates aren't loaded first which slows the installation down considerably. I wish I had known this on Day 1 as I would have been playing games a lot sooner after setting it up.
