Impossible to change Microsoft account linked to my Gamertag.

Hi, I'm trying to change my Microsoft account for a few days and I always get an error message:

"Sorry, there's a problem with the Xbox service. Try again later, for help with this problem, go to www.xbox.com/errorhelp. Status code: 8016FE6D"

I waited the 30 days required for new accounts or recovered ones too. I searched the code in the search codes in the support section, no luck. I searched forums, nobody got this code except one person but he didn't got any answer aswell. I contacted the support via chat but they couldn't find anything to help me.

Does anybody encounter this issue ?

A friend of min encountered this problem and just tried everyday until one day it just worked! Sorry but that's all the help I can give you.

Visionnz, if you have information that will help, you should post it publicly where it can be of help.

Asking people to contact you in private about it immediately makes it sound a little dodgy, even if that's unintended.

Hi,

I wasn't able to edit my last post so I have to double post here. Just to notice that even if I did speak with the support via email or chat, they didn't find where this issue came from but one day it finally worked. I think this is something linked to the changes about Microsoft points/money because when this changes became permanent for everyone, I was able to change my Microsoft account successfully.

I'm having the same problem, I want to transfer this gamertag to another email. The only problem is while trying to transfer I accidentally created a gamertag on the email I wanted the gamertag to be transferred to. So I followed the directions on the transfer gamertag website. The email I now want to transfer my gamertag to is gamertag free, but when I try to transfer now I get Status code: 8016FE6D.

For future reference please create your own thread so you can get easier assistance. but it looks like that code says if youre trying to transfer the gamertag to another email, if you have some currency on your account you need to get rid of it first or accept that you are find that it will disappear.
