I'm 18. Why is Xbox asking me for parental permission?

I'm 18, and it still asks me for my mums email address when I try to get into Facebook.

Usually I would just log in to her account like normal but a month or two ago her email account was hacked and Hotmail froze her account permanently.

Also when I try to log in to her account for the parental permission on Facebook I get 'Cannot communicate with Xbox Live"

What on earth do I do here?

Does your mom also have an Xbox Gamercard? If so, she needs to change the email address associated with her ID to a new one. That can be done on Xbox.com, "My Xbox > Accounts". If you are on an Xbox LIVE Gold Family plan, she can also manage the parental controls under "My Xbox > Family Center".
