I've got a question...

So I just sent in my Xbox for repair because of the RROD. The console was under warranty, but it RROD'ed every time I tried to open the disc tray, and not because of overheating. 

My worry here is that this may not count as it an actual RROD and that they either won't fix it or I'll have to pay the fee which I really can't afford at the moment.

Could anybody here help me? This is stressing me out. :\

Note: It red ringed once before, and it froze on me about three times in the last two months. I'm not sure that means anything though.

It's a pretty simple solution here, if it is actually showing you a red ring and your console is covered under warranty (after it's been repaired and sent back to you they extend the console warranty by a bit though I'm not sure about the exact amount of time) you'd need to contact them and speak with an XBOX Support representative to figure out if they would charge you again or not. Not really anything someone would be able to tell you on the forums since we can't look at your account information.

What I meant was, I sent it into them a few days ago for the first time and they haven't received it yet. I was just worried that because of why my console got the red ring in the first place, they won't repair it or they'll charge me.

Well do the troubleshooting

Sometimes 3 red lights can be caused by power brick issues

It's very important to make sure the power brick light is green when the console is on

If it remains red or orange then try another outlet

^ What? I already did all that.

I got the red ring every time I tried to open the disc tray and one other time for no real reason. I just don't know if Microsoft's RROD warranty covers that. :(
