I'm over 18 but I think I might still have a child account

Can someone tell me how to check? My date of birth is 5th July 1990 but the call of duty elite Xbox app says that I can't register because of my account. If my account is a child account is there anyway to change this?

if the age was entered correctly you can promote it to an adult account:

support.microsoft.com/.../945418

but if that option is not there then you probably entered the birthday info incorrectly and you will have no choice but to wait til the account reaches the age of 18 THEN promote it, sorry.

Sorry to interject, but would there be no possible way to contact xbox and ask them to change the Date of birth associated with the account?

I'm pretty sure my issue arises from an issue I had in 2007, where the 12 month code wouldn't work on my main account, so I used a temporary account I'd created when my friend came round my house the month before, and, to my great annoyance, the code then worked. Thus I believe the age is still registered to his, regardless of the fact I changed all the things associated, e.g. windows live ID, billing info, etc.

Flamin, there is NO way to change the date, even if you call in, once it is set that is it you cannot change it all.

The only date you can see is to check your WLID on Live.com, however this may not be the same as what you entered when creating your GT. If your account is now over 18, you can promote it by following the instructions at the link provided above. If not, you would need to create a new GT with the correct birth date. Let me know if that helps, thanks!
