I want a gamertag that doesnt exist?!

i want the gamertag "bird" but when i add it as a friend its just some original xbox owner who never uses ther accounts, along with every other decent gamertag. why dont they get deleted or something?

Microsoft started deleting original xbox gamertags over a month ago. Basically you just have to rely on luck on trying to get them though.

Also, even if it's not used as an Xbox gamertag, it could be in use on another Microsoft service.

There's not really anywhere to look that up. All you can do is try to change your gamertag to that name and if you can, then it's available. If not, then it either hasn't been deleted or it's in use by someone.

If you get a message saying it is unavailable, then it is unavailable. It could have been used on Xbox, GfWL, Zune, etc. No one in any support capacity has the ability to just "give" you a Gamertag if you as for it.
