I redeemed gold membership but it still says silver

I just tried to send a message on xbox.com but it won't let me because I do not have gold membership. Well that's what it says. The problem is, I redeemed a code for gold membership, but it still says silver. Can you help me?

If you entered the code on the website, it can take a while to fully update on your account. Your profile is showing that you're a gold member, so you just need to give it some time to update.

I redeemed a 3M code on the website but It still keeps on saying Silver Member on my dashboard..Can someone please help me out I'm itching to play FIFA online!!

try clearing the consoles cache see this link for the how to: support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

Restart the xbox console afterwards
