I need to test connection every time I turn on my Xbox?

My NAT settings had been annoying me so i tried all the suggested methods for it, including port forwarding. It got me nowhere, so I'm guessing our router is just rubbish. But the thing is, after i had done all the port forwarding and things, i ran into a new problem. Every time i turn on my Xbox, i need to test connection to be able to connect to Xbox Live. After i've tested connection, everything is OK. This isn't too much of a problem but it's been bugging me loads recently, cos i don't know how to fix it. Can anyone help?

to skip reading that article what I had to do was open the command promp type "ipconfig/all" and get the IP address from you ISP's servers that you are connected to. Then go to the network settings on your xbox 360 and select the network you are connected to. Configure network and go down to DNS settings and change it from Automatic to Manual. Then put in the IP address of your ISP's servers. This is what finally solved the problem for me. Hope this helps people.
