I need help changing from a child account to an adult account

I just turned 17 and my dad said he would change my account from a child to adult account. When he tried to sign in on his parent account it said it was deleted. Now he can't change my account to an adult, and my xbox live has run out and I can't accept the new terms of use. Is there a way to change my account or do I need to let go of all my data and restart?

You're still under the age of majority in the United States (18).   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_majority Do you live elsewhere?

Yes, he is a minor but if you take an M game, given you have one, and look closely it says 'Mature 17+' so he should be able to switch, but im not 100% sure how, sorry OP.

Omg, We're not talking about game rating, we're talking about who is legally an adult under US law.

1) You have the parental email address written down, right? If not, go to the Xbox and try to accept the Terms of Use and it will be shown to you.
2) Take that to http://account.live.com/password/reset
3) If you can't reset it, go to http://account.live.com/acsr SAVE THE EMAILS SENT TO YOU
4) If that fails, contact Support (800-4MY-XBOX Option 2 in the US et Canada) and provide them with the Console ID number from Settings | System | Console Settings | System Info (it's on the 2nd line) and the reference number from the email sent to you in Step 3, and submit a UE Request.
