I changed my gamer tag and now cannot connect to xbox live..

Hi! I am having some difficulties connecting to my xbox live account. My account ran out Sunday so I bought a 12 month card and redeemed it online. Directly after that, my  fiancé changed his gamertag. Now, we are unable to log on to the account. We've called the support with no Help. They told us to redownload the profile. An error message popped up with a problem code. The support person said she never had this problem. Also, our gamer tag on our console is the new gamer tag, but the name online is our old gamertag. Has anyone else had this problem? Or know what to do?

I'm having the exact same problem. Xbox support sent my problem to someone higher and I must wait 3-5 days and they will call or email when the problem is fixed. If you want you can try:

-Clearing the Cache

-Deleting Profile(only)

-Checking the connections

-Making sure all emails and passwords match

and there is even a code you can do to delete the Xbox updates but then download again.

Me and my husband have tried this all with no luck. So we are playing the waiting game now. Hope this helps in some way!
