I can't recover my gamertag.

I can't recover my gamer tag.  I get a message that says, 'can't save your profile on the selected storage device.  Please make sure the device is inserted correctly and has enough free space, and then try again.'  The hard drive is connected correctly and has plenty of space.  What do I do now?

clear system cache, turn off console then reset the hard drive and remove any external drives such as flash drives or memory cards, power the console back and try recover the gamertag again making sure that the HD is the selected storage device you are recovering too

if this doesn't resolve the situation might need a call to XBL support to further troubleshoot the HD
