I can't update my account to Xbox Live GOLD it keeps saying "oops you have found a glitch in the system"

Hi

I had a gold account which was disconnected, i went to renew for a month and both renewal on the xbox and through the internet will not allow me to upgrade my free account to the GOLD account. It keeps coming up with a system error. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I actually spoke to someone about this exact issue today. Turns out that it's because the credit card I had associated to the account had expired whilst I wasn't online for a while. When they tried to auto-renew my subscription it was declined because the card no longer existed. The automated system then 'blacklists' that card and you can't update your membership as long as it exists on your profile.

To fix it you must remove the card from your payment options entirely, and then enter your new card/paypal details instead. The key point is to remove the card that is no longer valid (assuming that's your issue)

Well im getting this issue, and have no clue why. i've added a new card and a new paypal but none i can activate.
