I can't connect to Xbox live. It says there is no internet connection but there is one.

My Gold account is also active.  Don't know what's wrong

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues connecting to Xbox Live.

Just to double check, have you tried the steps in our  Cannot Connect Troubleshooter. It has a couple of different solutions based on what you're seeing.


If you're still having issues after trying those steps, here are some questions that will help us understand your situation:

  1. What model console are you using?
  2. Are you trying a wired or wireless connection?
  3. Have you been able to connect before?
  4. Where in the connection test is it failing?
  5. What error are you seeing exactly?



Please let us know and we'll work from there.

my xbox is doing the same thing and it is getting alittle stupid with all the issues next gen. is having Microsoft really need to get this straight.

The servers are down right now. This is may be the issue on why you cannot connect to Xbox live, but the staff are working on getting it up and running as we speak! So don't fret, it'll be back up soon :)

Having no internet connection is a problem on your end, not Xbox live.   Are you connected to your home network and just not connecting to xbox live or is there no connection to the internet at all?  Some wireless routers need exceptions to allow a connection to Xbox Live.  I would like to help you but need more info.

I'm aware, however...  His console should still connect to his home network, as the outage won't effect his home network, it won't establish a connection to Live though.  BTW my sons are playing on Live right now.  1 is on the Xbox One and the other is on a 360.

That's why I asked for more info.  The connection path should be: console>router>internet>xbox live.  If it's connecting to his home network, he is having problems with Live.  If it's not connecting to his router/modem, he is having issues at home.

The core services are fixed. if it's not working then it's purely his connection now.
