Hey there Milltaery,

Sorry to hear you've been having issues playing Black Ops online.

Does this error occur only when you try to play Black Ops?
Does this error occur for any profile on your console?

That long error code is often related to an error with your update. I would recommend trying these steps:

1: Download the update again

  1. Restart your console.
  2. Press the Guide button on your controller.
  3. Go to settings and select System Settings.
  4. Select Network Settings.
  5. Select Wired Network or your wireless network name (if you're prompted to do so).
  6. Select Test Xbox Live Connection.
  7. Select Yes if you are prompted to update your console software.

2: Check your Xbox Live connection

If you're having problems connecting or staying connected to Xbox Live, see Xbox Live: Connect to Xbox Live.

3: Make sure you have enough storage space

The latest console software update requires at least 190 megabytes (MB) of storage space (or 256 MB if you live in Japan). If you don’t have enough free space, you need to move or delete some items. See Copy, move, or delete Xbox saved games, profiles, and avatar items.

4: Clear the system cache

Removing the temporary files on your console might solve the problem. Follow the instructions at Clear your Xbox 360 system cache, and then try downloading the update again.

5: Reinsert the storage device

  • If you’re using an Xbox 360 Memory Unit or a USB flash drive instead of a hard drive, remove and reinsert the Memory Unit or flash drive.
  • If you have a hard drive, try removing and adding the hard drive again.

After you replace the storage device, try downloading the update again.

6: Use a USB flash drive or disc to apply the update

If none of the preceding solutions fixed the problem, copy the console update from your computer to a USB flash drive, CD, or DVD. Then, install the update on your console. Here’s how:

Copy to a USB flash drive

Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.

  1. Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
  2. Download the update file.
  3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file to your computer.
  4. Unzip the file by double-clicking the .zip file. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive.
  5. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
  6. Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
  7. Restart the console.
  8. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.

Burn to CD or DVD

You can also download the update to your computer, burn the update to a CD or DVD, and then install the update on your console. Here's how:

  1. On your computer, download the update file.
  2. Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
  3. Unzip the file by double-clicking the .zip file.
  4. Insert a blank writeable CD or DVD into your computer.
  5. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory on your CD or DVD, and then select to write (burn) the files to the disc.
  6. Once the files have been burned to disc, remove the disc from your computer and insert it into the disc drive on your Xbox 360 console.
  7. Restart the console.
  8. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.
