I can no longer connect to Live with Wireless

I have a serious problem!

I have a new XBox 360 Slim which I bought this past Fall. I have been connected to my wireless network at home for the whole time. I have a Belkin N+ Router.

I logged on to Live and downloaded the latest update and as soon as I was done downloading the update I was kicked off of Live and have not been able to log in again. I have two laptops connected wirelessly, as well as a PC connected through a cable. They all pick up the the network just fine...like they did before.

I have tried ALL of the trouble shooting tips from the router and from XBox Live network support. I got to the point that MS Support said...."we have no other options, contact the forums." So I am here.

The XBox recognizes that I have my network set-up...it just won't connect no matter what I try.

Is there something the update did? What can I do? Please help!!!!!!

You can also go into the wireless setup page for your router and turn on the "Protected Mode"  feature to enhance the stability of your wifi signal. Setting it to channel 11 and possibly G only mode just to make sure there isn't a mixed signal issue may help as well.

Stryder, your inability to get an ip address is the result of not being able to connect to the wireless network, so yes please try those suggestions.

With that router you should also turn off the Wifi Protected Setup feature on the router, then restore the console to factory defaults(in the advanced settings of configure network) and then power the xbox off and back on and try reconnecting.

But will this get my xbox to obtain an IP address? Right now it's all 0's for IP, subnet, and gateway. I've tried to enter those manually to no avail. Everything else in my house can pick up my wireless signal.

My recommendation would be to use the best wireless encryption available WPA2-PSK(AES) there are also other common issues to check through here:- www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../114-troubleshooting-and-improving-wireless

I have a Belkin F5D8235 (I think, I'm at work right now) V. 3000 with a WPA security. I have re-entered the key a bunch of times in order to make sure it was right...that didn't work.

I have no idea....I'll check when I get home. Any instructions on how to do that? I'm not all THAT tech saavy.

I tried manually setting the IP address on the Xbox but that didn't work. I really don't know what to do.

Do you have any special settings in your Belkin router, for your Xbox?  Lilke Port forwarding or DMZ settings.

If so, the update reboots may have caused your Xbox to lose the IP address that those settings point at.   You might check to be sure those settings in your router still have the IP address of your Xbox and that your Xbox has the correct IP address.
