How do I manage this error of "enter a valid credit card number"

I need to use the credit card option of payment for a exclusive deal Xbox Live is offering, but to do that I need to add a credit card to this account.

Here's the deal. I have the correct credit card number. I have used this debit card in other accounts before with no problem. I have nothing wrong with my billing information at Microsoft. I have nothing wrong with my bank account and usage of this card for any other deals outside of xbox. I have put down all the information correctly and re-checked dozens of times now. This problem has been going on for several days and the offer I want could end at any time.

I tried to add my credit card on the Xbox dashboard, but that brings up another error I describe in another post of mine related to this problem. Needless to say, I can't add a payment option through the dashboard. So I tried here, on this website directly. And it's giving me this message over and over and over despite a world of perfection regarding everything else except this single problem, it says "Please enter a valid credit card number". I AM YOU *** ***. I've used this number for several years I know for a fact that it has been valid all this time. This is the most frustrating thing I've ever seen. A single stupid message is preventing me from ever attaining gold membership on this account with my credit card, which I need for the special offer.........

For the love of God, I already used that article as help a long time ago in accordance with this problem, it helped with nothing. It says absolutely nothing about why my number is not valid. I have all the correct information and nothing stops this message from coming up still.

these questions need to be filled out for us to help you further, unfortunately without this information we cannot know what is going on

you can also try billing support via phone

 You have too many unsuccessful purchase attempts, and will need to wait 24 to 48 hours.
Pretty self-explanatory, but if you have been trying to authorize a card too many times, the fraud protection on the card might kick in, preventing any further attempts. You may need to also call your provider to see if you need to personally authorize the use of this card for this purpose.

I have tried everything and still can’t my payment method.

have you checked with the provider if fraud protection has been enabled?

also is it a military base address? sometimes they don't go thru contact billing for further assistance :)

(they only address it over the phone with billing issues)

No, I can still use the card with everything else. Also, no I don't live in a military base.

everything else as in ebay etc etc etc?

oh wait is it a prepaid visa card?

a fraud lock only prevents validation from 1 provider in this case MS

also if its a prepaid visa  or regular you might want to with the provider if online and reoccuring transactions are allowed on it

single purchases do not count as reoccuring charges

Well I haven't payed for anything recently on there, so I wouldn't know, but I have no problem accessing and potentially using it. And no I'm not using prepaid cards nor visa cards.

take the issue up with billing but i'd give your creditcard provider a call and make sure those 2 options are available and on

I've had the exact same problem for the last week. My advise? Return your Xbox. That's what I'm doing.
