How do I fix drifting analog stick without opening up the controller?

Sorry to say, but its the only one I have. I don't want to go out and replace it, considering they're over 60$. Is there anyway to fix it without going into the controller? I don't want this controller to be like this by the time Halo 5 is out. Also,  do not bother Mister Quimby, I've tried your "steps", it worked for exactly 0 people...

Hello

Unfortunately there is no fix for this issue besides buying a new controller. You can find usually find controller for a lot cheaper (45$ instead of 60$) when searching sites like Amazon than buying it from a retail store.

@Feared

I was hoping for something a little more hopeful. Its still useable in games, so its not a terrible concern, but I hope someone else comes by with a magical fix, as I need one.
