Help!!

I have my Xbox connected via wired network to my Apple Airport Extreme which has my external HHD connected to it for wireless access as well as wired access through the router.  My Xbox does not see the HHD though...any ideas anyone?  Thanks!

Well obviously if I direct connect it will work but I am trying to use it through my wireless router...thanks for the answer Red Shift1.  Can anyone else help?

The hdd needs to be formatted so the Xbox can see it. Once you do that it should show up but you will only be able to use 16gb of it. For more information on storage devices have a look through www.xbox.com/.../storage

My point is that never have I seen anyone trying to use a HD unless it was physcially connected to the 360.  Could you explain exactly what you are trying to do.

The OP is trying to use a third party hdd that is connected to his network with his console but the console does not recognize it.

I have never seen post where that could be done.  In all cases involving HDs, the HD has to be physically connected to 360 itself; i.e, either via the USB jack or clipping the HD onto side like mine.  COuld you direct me to a page where I could read about this?  Maybe I will try that as well.

What the OP is trying to do will not work the way he wants it to work. He would need to physically attach the hdd to his console via the USB port and configure it for the console before it would be read by the console. And even then he would only be limited to the 16gb partition size.
