Help please!

I sold my old hard drive (20gb) to a guy on ebay and he's saying the instant he put it on his system it red-ringed. The hard drive is cleared of my saves. I never cheat people for their money so I didn't corrupt it. The hard drive is in relatively good condition and just has small scratches.

He didn't use a transfer cable and merely put it on his system (He had no hard drive). This is also the first red-ring he has gotten.

Is there a solution to this? Thanks in advance.

A hard drive can't make  a console red ring to my knowledge. Sounds to me that he is pulling a scam.

voteDC is right. He is either trying to scam you or it's just in coincidence, which you cannot do anything about.

Ask him how many red lights have he got, and any error codes that he's getting. Also tell him to come here or contact Xbox Support.

I did. He still hasn't messaged back. I hope if it's not a scam it got fixed somehow.
