HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an xbox 360 elite (original). I've had it for just over a year and have
always had it connected via hdmi cable. Recently I tried to turn it on to play
it and it powered on fine, but it won't put out any sound or image. I tried using
the cable on another piece of hdmi equipment and the cable worked just fine. So
I know the cable and the tv are not the issue. Please help!

The Xbox its self might have a problem. If you're still under warranty try to get it checked out. Cheers!

have you tried using a normal xbox AV cable?

With it display video and sound then?

If yes, it seems to be a problem with your HDMI port.

If you still have warranty, contact Xbox support.

Hey there Vernier,

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your console'sdisplay.

If you've confirmed that the cable and HDMI ports are funcional by using them with different devices, there is another option to try.

You can reset your consoles display settings by following the steps below:

  1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
  2. Turn off the console.
  3. Turn on the console.

Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left light illuminated.

  4. As the console starts, on the controller, press and hold Y while pulling the right trigger. The display settings are reset to the default settings, and then the console automatically restarts.

Let us know how that goes and we can work from there.

It could be the resolution that's trying to display with HDMI. On the working TV try to set it to "auto detect". If that doesn't work. Try setting it to the lowest resolution possible... PS: did anyone even notice this post was from 2011
