XBL stores a copy of your profile on the server and then updates it every time you connect to the service. Recovering a profile means downloading a copy of your profile that's stored on the server.

If you keep getting that message log onto your Windows Live ID (email address associated with your gamertag) and change the password.

Then turn on your Xbox

Go to system settings

Select memory

Select your hard drive

Select gamer profiles

Find the gamertag you wish to sign into

Select delete

Select delete profile only

Exit back out to the dashboard

Press the guide button

Select recover gamertag

Hope that works.

Let me know if it doesn't
