Help installing new 250 gb HDD!

Hey, Everyone,

Frustrating morning here. I was psyched to receive my new Xbox 250 gb HDD, upgrading from my 120 gb. But the console doesn't read the new hard drive at all (let alone allow me to transfer my data from my 120 hdd). When I go to "System," "Memory" it just says "No memory device detected" (or something like that).

I worked through it with Xbox support on the phone but he was not able to help. He thinks the drive is defective. I ordered it from Techzone, via Amazon.

My console is quite new and has all relevant updates. It seems unlikely that the drive is defective.  (Or maybe I'm just being naive.)

Has anyone else had trouble with this?

Any advice before I return the drive?

Thanks in advance!

David

Is this an official Microsoft certified hard drive? There should be a holographic sticker on it.
