HD Audio Adapter

I am having issues hooking up my Tritton AX720. I use an HDMI cable to hook up my xbox to my HDTV. Per the instructions I need to have both the HDMI cable hooked up to the TV and the HD Audio adapter hooked up to the decoder box via optical cable. The issue is that when both the HDMI cable and the HD audio adapter are plugged into the back of the machine my HDTV shows no signal when the console is turned on. Only when I remove the HD audio adapter from the console is when my HDTV reads the xbox via the HDMI cable. Has anyone had this issue?

I assume the decoder box is the box you got with the Headphonesor am I missing something here?  If so, this shouldn't affect what your TV is displaying?

Correct it is the box I received with the headset. I agree. I have no idea why I cannot have both the HDMI and the Audio adapter hooked up.

Im not at home now but try looking at the display settings on your xbox when both you leads are plugged in the back and see what it is displaying at.

I have the TB X41s which use the same connection and have never had this problem.

Could it be the adapter that came with the headset the issue?

Did you get the audio adapter that plugs into the xbox with your headphones? if so then it could well be, it could be overiding the HDMI output.  I bought an official one (cheap as chips) from Ebay, on it's own without HDMI cable.

I should work OK, but with both plugged in the HDMI auto switch over sometimes doesn't work. Try pressing the AV button on your TV until it shows the correct input for xbox. (Xbox will probably re-boot)
