I'm bumping this one as well. Some just said in another post that were not suppose to be able to see this info, but that just doesn't make sense.

Found the answer in their "start here" announcement.

Okay, so how do I access my hard drive?

There's no direct way to access a list of what's on your hard drive. Games and apps can be uninstalled from their own details. Save data can be deleted from within their respective games.

But if I can't see how much space I have left, how do I know if I can download this new hot thang?

This is actually pretty easy! Just try to download it. Go ahead! If you don't have enough space, you'll be prompted with a message asking you to clear up some space. Anything you've purchased digitally can be re-downloaded later as long as it's available on the Marketplace, so there's no risk in losing that content. Disc-based games can be uninstalled if you don't plan to play them for a while.

I just spent 30 minutes looking for the hard drive info and this explains why I couldn't find it.

I couldn't find a download list either which I'm guessing they decided we didn't need to see either. It's annoying these features aren't here today but in the future not being able to access our hard drive folders and prior download list is going to be an issue.

so basically we just have to take microsoft's word for it that the X1 actually has a 500gb hard drive, or probably more like 300gb with all the useless crap that's cluttering it like IE for one since if i wont to brows the internet i will use firefox on my pc.
