Hard Drive Recovery?

My friend decided to wipe out my entire hard drive on my xbox, this includes save data, gamer profiles, and any updates, apps, ect. Is there any possible way to get any of these things back without starting all over? I have countless hours saved on there, and so far I have only recovered my gamertag, and redownloaded a few apps and updates. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

Why doesn't microsoft make a recovery disk? Once files are deleted, they're still able to be recovered, and microsoft could make money off of it anyway

first don't bump a thread from a year ago, second they already have the cloud which is plenty big enough for game saves as that is the ONLY thing you cannot recover if you wipe a hard drive.
