Gold membership troubles

I just bought a 12 month membership to xboxlive. I redeemed it on xbox.com and it says im now a gold member but when I turn in my xbox it says im still silver. when I go into my account managerment under memberships it says gold........but im not a gold member......I also tried redeeming the code again but its " no longer valid"...........what do I do?

When you add time on the website vs. the console, there is a delay. To speed up the process you can try either testing your connection or recovering your account.

Recovering your account pulls your account from the Xbox Live servers.

On the console, sign out of any accounts, press the guide button on your controller, then go to Recover Gamertag and follow the instructions.
