Gold Membership not working

I purchased Xbox Live Gold Membership online and on the computer it says I have it bought. But on my xbox it still says I am using free. On my account types though it says I have gold but that is not showing up on my actual account and I am receiving no Gold benefits.

When you purchase gold on the website there is a delay before the console will recognize it. To speed up the process either test your connection or recover your account.
