Games for Windows Live and Microsoft Account mixed-up

Hello,

Platform: PC with Win 7.

Some time ago I deleted my Microsoft Account, forgetting that my Games for Windows Live account was linked to it (my mistake).

Today I have re-create that Microsoft Account (using the same email address I used to have).

I then wanted to link my Games for Windows Live account to the newly re-created Microsoft Account, but for some reason (I probably was too quick), I ended-up with a new Games for Windows Live account (with an automatically generated Gamertag) linked to my newly re-created Microsoft Account.

How can I unlink these two accounts and relink my old  Games for Windows Live account to the newly re-created Microsoft Account?

Thank you for your help,

Yannick

Hi UnkinderFlyer91,

Are you still able to use the same login information to access your Games For Windows LIVE Account?

When you log into login.live.com, does it log into your new Microsoft Account, or the old one? The GFWL account may not be tied to the old MSA anymore, but you should still be able to log into it with the same credentials. Let us know.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

Basically I have only one MSA (I closed it by mistake and then re-created it); however it is now linked to the wrong GFWL gamertag (UnkinderFlyer91 instead of xxxx). It seems to me that xxxx is no longer linked to any MSA, hence I cannot access it.

From what I have read, it seems possible to change that using an Xbox console, but I don't have one at hand. Is it possible to do the same through an Internet browser?

Thanks!

Hey there Flyer! I would suggest trying calling using the support.xbox.com/contact-us page to set up a call with phone support. I would think that if you have all the old information and can verify ownership they may be able to help you out. ^_^
