Gamer Score Inaccuracies

Hi, sorry to bother you professional players, but as a relative noob I wondered about something I had noticed whilst playing MW2 on-line.

I see people with gamer scores, some in the thousands, but if I look at their profiles, they have played no games.  How is this possible.  how can you show a gamer score when viewed on the game but when you go to compare games, they have all 0's?  Are they cheating or is there something I am missing?  Should these people be reported?

Also as an aside, would it not be a good idea to give some feedback if you have reported someone?  If I am wrong about reporting, what I thought to be an obvious cheat, I would like to know, so I can learn from my mistake and not do it over and over again.  By giving us feedback you help us to help you!

When I first started in retail I worked for a smaller video game company that would allow us to take street-dated games home. Now I know this is obviously wrong, I didn't care then. I use to hide my games because I got tired of getting messages from people about it.

And the signing in and out?  You can stop people messaging you in a game so that is no excuse.  It always seems to be with the ones you think are up to no good.  The ones with the 30 kills in a team death match or where the game is glitching all over the place.  far too often I have seen people appear to go off line after a game has finished only to return a minute later.  Are they having to turn something off?

As for the being messaged it is easy to not answer or delete.

Speaking of gamerscore, why does my gamercard in this forum show that i have 99994 gamerscore when i really have 100039 gamerscore. It shows it correctly at the top of the screen.

Doesn't it show up as dashes "-" next to the gamerscore if they've hidden their played games? If it shows up as all 0's but yet they still seem to have a ridiculous number of points, isn't that modding one's gamerscore?

Why would anyone want to hide their gamer scores?  I would magine that would be a sure sig that someone was up to no good!

XBox seems to be full of cheats.  Latest thing I have seen is people signing out after getting ridiculous wins.  Is there some reason for the sign out?  I have also seen where it says they have not been playing for over half an hour when I had played them 1 minute previously.

Why do people feel the need to cheat?  It makes a farce of any score they have.

People can appear offline, this is useful for when I don't want to play with people on my friends list.
